A Classic is Forever a Classic.
One of a Kind pieces only. MEET GENTLEMAN JIM
Gentleman Jim’s journey began in 1961, honing his skills at iconic New York institutions like Barneys, Macy’s, and Weber & Heilbroner. However, his true mastery was forged under the mentorship of Orie Wells at the legendary Orie’s Custom Tailoring on 125th Street.
Located right next to the Apollo Theatre, Orie’s was the epicenter of style for the mid-century's most influential figures. During this era, Jim helped craft custom garments for a "who’s who" of American icons:
Music Legends: James Brown, The Isley Brothers, B.B. King, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and James Cleveland.
Sports Icons: Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, and members of the New York Jets.
Civil Rights Leaders: A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin.
Expansion into Georgia
Bringing his world-class expertise to the South, Jim established a high-end, exclusive men’s and women’s clothing house in the prestigious Buckhead community of Atlanta. His reputation for precision and elegance quickly made him a fixture of the Atlanta metropolitan fashion scene.
